Craig Bessenger is a trial and appellate lawyer with experience in an array of criminal and civil matters.  He represents individuals and corporations in state and federal courts.

Before joining Clarence & Dyer, Mr. Bessenger was a litigation associate with Bingham McCutchen, practicing in the firm’s San Francisco office. During law school, he served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Phyllis J. Hamilton, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.  He also interned at the San Francisco Office of the Public Defender, where he assisted in the representation of individuals charged with felonies.

Mr. Bessenger graduated from Brown University in 1999, and then worked as a writer and editor prior to attending law school.  Mr. Bessenger graduated magna cum laude from the University> of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2006.  He was elected to the Thurston Society and received Witkin Awards for Academic Excellence in Constitutional Law, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Practice Clinic, and Negotiation & Mediation.  He served as an Articles Editor for the Hastings International and Comparative Law Review and as a tutor for fellow law students through the Hastings Academic Support Program.
